Colossians 1:15 - 23 More than a hymn of praise that interupts the flow of Paul's letter, this passage is a slam against the Gnostic heresy that was threatening to take root in Colossae.

Faith in Jesus is inseparable from lived out love for God’s people.

Painting the scene of Palm Sunday... wild eyed Jesus in the temple... peaceful king riding in on a donkey.  Who is this Jesus?

What is the highest calling for us as a church?  Famlies?  Individuals?  What is the mission of the church?

Prayer is not passive.  Prayer is Active.

People of God are called to stand in-between.

Abraham pleaded with God for the people of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. His prayer was active and he was intentional in putting himself in the gap.
